Are you ready to discover the Great Southern Treasures?
Situated in the Upper Great Southern region of Western Australia is a network of communities rich in history. Together, they form the Great Southern Treasures, a collective of eight shires and the myriad stories, landscapes and individuals within them.
Our region boasts a strong agricultural foundation, with farming and grazing underpinning many communities within the shires of Broomehill-Tambellup, Cranbrook, Gnowangerup, Jerramungup, Katanning, Kent, Kojonup, and Woodanilling. Beyond agriculture, there are numerous attractions including boutique wineries, local produce, national parks, bush walks and hikes, wildflowers, lively community events, and living history that can be experienced firsthand.
The Great Southern Treasures sits on the lands of the Kaneang, Goreng, Wudjari, Wilman, and Menang peoples of the Noongar Nation, who have lived here for tens of thousands of years. The region carries the spirit of these first storytellers, their knowledge and connection to Boodja (Country) shaping the landscape as we know it today.
Take the road less travelled – you never know what treasures you’ll find…
