Bloom Festival Event Holder Information

The Bloom Festival celebrates the renewal of spring throughout the Great Southern Treasures (GST) region, focusing on the wildflower tapestries and town cultures that make up this amazingly diverse region. 

With a whole month of activities spanning across 8 shires, the festival encompasses more than 40 events & displays making a trip to the Great Southern Treasures a must do this spring. So, let’s encourage our visitors to enjoy what nature & our passionate communities have to offer! 

Events of the festival are to include (but not limited to) arts, crafts, displays, exhibitions, fauna & flora-themed activities, food events, guided tours & hikes, heritage trails, markets, Noongar culture events, open gardens, wine & dine events, creative workshops and more.

Community Information Session

We will be hosting a Community Information session in May. This session we will cover: 

  • What it means to be a part of the Bloom Festival.
  • Support, advice, and direction on hosting an event if required.
  • Brainstorm and workshop with the community and an events professional on what type of event you could host.
  • The benefits of including your event in the Bloom Festival.

30 May 2025 – Event holders registration form cut-off 

1 August 2025 – Program booklet released and distributed throughout the state’s Visitor Centres, general public & uploaded to websites.

27 September 2025 – Opening of 2025 Bloom Festival 

TBC Annual Bloom Festival Launch Event

26 October 2025 – Finale of 2025 Bloom Festival 

 


FAQ’s

How do I register my event?

Please complete the Event Holder’s Registration Form by the 30th May 2025. Any forms lodged after this date will be considered, however may not meet the program booklet deadline. 

Who can hold an event?  

Venues, individuals, community groups, businesses, organisations and individuals are invited to be part of the festival by hosting events to be held within the Great Southern Treasures region. 

What type of events can be included? 

Events include, but are not limited to: Arts, crafts, displays, entertainment, music, dance, exhibitions, fauna & floral themed activities, food & wine events, guided tours, heritage, land care, markets, Noongar culture, open gardens, organics, trails, and workshops.

If your event type is not listed here – we still want to hear from you, so please complete the form or email us with the details of your event.  We try to include everyone and anything (within reason) 

Events can be held over an hour, day, weekend, week, or the full duration. 

How much does it cost to have an event included in the Festival?

Single Free Event: $50

Multiple Free Events: $100 (total fee)

Single Paid Event: $100

Multiple Paid Events: $150 (total fee)

Outside Great Southern Treasures

Single Free Event: $100

Multiple Free Events: $150 (total fee)

Single Paid Event: $150

Multiple Paid Events: $200 (total fee)

What does the above fee include?

Fee contributes to marketing & advertising campaigns and resources such as: 

  • Access to ticketing platform, we will create your event for you
  • Simple event planning guideline documents, including budget template. 
  • Option of one-on-one meetings with the Event Coordinator as mutually agreed 
  • Cooperative marketing where applicable 
  • Event support via phone / email
  • Extensive marketing of your event as part of the festival, which will include a printed program (4000 copies printed), radio advertising, digital marketing, plus more.

Does my event date need to fall within the official Bloom Festival dates? 

We encourage events to be within the Bloom dates, however, if yours does not, please get in touch with our team for a chat. We endeavour to include everyone.

What towns are in the Great Southern Treasures region? 

Beaufort River, Borden, Bremer Bay, Broomehill, Cranbrook, Frankland River, Gairdner, Gnowangerup, Jerramungup, Katanning, Kendenup, Kent, Kojonup, Muradup, Nyabing, Ongerup, Pingrup, Rocky Gully, Tambellup, Tenterden, Woodanilling.

My event is outside of the Great Southern Treasures, can it still be included in the Bloom event program? 

Neighbouring shires may participate in the Bloom Festival if a few requirements are met. There are also advertising options available for both the website and program booklet, please email [email protected] 

What marketing and promotions are included?

Expected estimated attendance is approx. 16,000 visitors to the region.  Discover the abundance and diversity of flora and the communities in the Great Southern Treasures. The South-West of WA has been named one of the world’s global diversity hotspots with 8000 species across the region (in contrast, the UK has only 1500 plant species), half of which are found nowhere else on earth!   

  • Tourism marketing promotion opportunities consisting of accommodation, visitation, and events.
  • Inclusion in overall advertising campaign promotion via radio, online, magazines, press, outdoor, posters & competitions. 
  • Your event with photo in the printed event program & on the website and ticketing platform.
  • Targeted marketing encouraging people to spend multiple days visiting multiple events across the region 
  • EDM’s sent out by GST and Australia’s South West (ASW). 
  • Paid and organic Facebook and Instagram posts by GST & ASW (combined total of over 140k followers)
